Subject: Nonperformance of the board of its duties

Board members, see if you can wake up from you inertia and take care of problems like this teacher’s below. That is what the citizens elect you for: not to bend a knee before Ms. Elia and take trips to fun cities using tax dollars that could go to the children who are too poor to afford the supplies needed to participate in class activities.

This is why you need to emerge from your intellectual laziness and learn to use a computer and mount a Web site so that teachers and staff can communicate with you about their problems. I have begged for a place for teachers on the board agenda in vain. I specifically asked Susan Valdes and April Griffin, whose elections I supported, to work for teachers and students a place on the agenda. They neither had the care or the courtesy to answer my plea for teachers and students.

If you won’t give teachers and students a place on the agenda, the least you can do is mount a Web site so that they can communicate with you.

I HAVE to comment on the air as well. My classroom is about 80+ degrees. The air is NOT working, and no one will do a thing about it. When you factor in the heat from bodies, lights, and computers, not to mention the sun pouring in through the windows and the comings and goings, the temperature becomes unbearable. I sweat the ENTIRE day. I am so hot, that my clothes are drenched, and I feel sick! The children complain the entire period. Thanks Ms. Elia!

At my school one teacher has been teaching his class in the media center for weeks, b/c district people can't fix his ac. It goes back to what Lee says about the ROSSAC officials not knowing how to do their jobs, so they hire consultants, etc. This time they aren't hiring consultants, so the ac does not work.

I got two more messages from teachers on this problem and sent them to the board members with an appropriate rebuke. I sent copies to the press. Rat out the incompetents is my method. lee
